Fwiw, it's still quite easy to redeem CZ award flights with DL miles (as opposed to completely impossible to do the same on MU).
Yes, and we spent time discussing this at the height of the pandemic when there was nothing better to do.
I also want to earn MQMs to get me closer to DL MM status. Flying CZ or even CA won't get me there. So if I'm going to fly within China, MU will be my default choice.
