If your elite status drops before U space opens, it will be reflected in your position on the waitlist. Specifically, once the system updates your reservation to reflect your new elite status, your position on the WL will be adjusted.
You may want to wait for U space in order to use a GGU or a qualifying fare. 🤙🏻🍹
Totally understand the waitlist will sort me lower. But the issue is eligible fare class for instant upgrade for a ticket already booked and waitlisted. Once I am downgraded to MVP, K class isn't eligible for instant upgrades for MVPs. But since the fare was purchased as instant upgrade eligible with K class advertised as eligible, will they honor it when/if U class becomes available? Or will they kick me off of the waitlist? If they are going to kick me off the waitlist then I'll burn a GGU, but I don't want to pay a ton more for a Y or B fare to be eligible for instant upgrade as MVP).
