Write in to complain! Can't hurt... The response I got was:
Hi as219,
First and foremost, a note with gratitude that you have flown over 1.1 million life-time miles, a signal of loyalty as an elite customer that is noteworthy and greatly appreciated.
Your words clearly convey your disappointment and I regret that you are left with a diminished opinion of United as a result of the meal service reduction in certain markets.
Please know that I have filed your feedback and it has been included in our monthly Customer Care report which is reviewed by senior management. Our leadership teams review business policies and experiences that negatively impact our customers and they will be used to drive service improvements.
We understand that our service is judged with each experience and I hope you will not rely solely on this incident when forming your opinion of our overall service.
Kind Regards,
