The Purser is indeed the 'lead flight attendant'. The 'CSD' is a strange position. On short haul they do exactly the same job as the purser, but for more money. On long haul they do exactly the same job as a short haul CSD, except they earn yet more money still, and don't have to do any cabin service if they don't want to. Hmmmm, who negotiated that contract?
