OK thanks for the explanation. I have done this type of redemption before on IHG and they process a cash and points as a purchase of points and do it straight away. If you cancel, you get the points back to your account. Like if the hotel costs 25k points and you only have 15k, you pay money and they top you up to 25k points and pay for the hotel. If you cancel, you get 25k points in your account and not the money. I was hoping HH did the same. So I could benefit from the $50 quarterly statement credit by booking one night in each quarter for the May holiday. I can use the slider thingy up to $50 USD equivalent in TRY which will be credited back then pay less points for the hotel.
