I didn't grind the coffee on the plane (that's probably the ultimate upgrade) but had coffee I ground just before the flight in measured portions in tiny snap lid containers which I found at Waitrose;


The coffee wasn't quite as hot as I would like but in future I may get the Aeropress flow control filter cap which would mean I can give my Keep Cup to the FA to fill with hot water - which both prewarms the cup and keeps the water hot before pouring it over the grounds. I could then pour the water into the Aeropress without it leaking out. That would also allow the use of a coarser grind without coffee escaping until plunged. I'm also considering the Aeropress Go specifically for in flight use because its smaller form factor makes it much easier to carry around.


On this flight I had a number of factors in my favour. I was in Club Europe and there was only one other passenger in the cabin - and he was sleeping. It didn't really require a lot of work from the cabin crew though and I'll certainly try it on a fuller flight.
thanks for the tip, I will definitely check Aeropress Go. But I don't think I will try to make my own coffee on SH 😁.
