I have T-Mobile and iPhone. I have coverage as soon as I hit the ground in Argentina. However I did read the same and I downloaded the app in the USA. Upon arrival I had to enter an identifying document. I tried using my passport, that did not work, then I entered my credit card, and set the payment for cash. This was the way I was instructed in advance reading some blog in the USA.. it worked seamlessly
