Transfer went into "pending review". Today I get a call from Chase fraud department. I don't take incoming calls from banks due to phishing concerns (especially on Sunday nights). So, I told the CSR as much and said I'd call back on their official number. Didn't get through on their official number (for banking at least). Instead, I get a message to call back during business hours. Next I look online and the transaction is canceled, status says "rejected".
I did speak to someone in the credit card department who said they saw a note on my account about a transaction from Pathward Bank (which I know to be Serve Visa) but didn't know anything about it, so I'd have to talk to someone on the checking side.
Ominous. I know a bank account shutdown from Chase leads to all credit cards being closed. Yikes! Going to call tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Serve accounts are not supposed to allow pull (i.e. bank to Serve), they are just meant to push (i.e. Serve to Bank). If you value your relationship with Chase don't use them even for pushing from Serve.
