Still amazes me how merchants are sneaking in these surcharges. A counter service restaurant in an Arizona tourist town had no signs noting a surcharge until you selected a tip on the Clover terminal and then you were presented with the amount with tip and surcharge before tapping or inserting. Safe to say I reported them to Visa and noted it on a Yelp review. I searched Yelp reviews for that restaurant and apparently nobody else mentioned it, likely because they never noticed.

Another nearby restaurant surcharges well in excess of 3% per online reviews, but their website menu and menu outside the restaurant make no mention of a fee.

I still have yet to find a merchant who has correctly followed all the disclosure requirements (and even if they do, they call it a non-cash surcharge, which implies debit is also surcharged) and/or the fee cap from Visa.
