Considering it’s a marathon (and even though I’m old I still expect to still be here in a year

), with $0 AF and AmEx no credit pull for existing customers and Amex pop-ups, an application even with my sole existing 6-7 year old BBP (other than decline or pop-up) would seem to be risk free. Am I missing anything? Thank you.
I just can't justify $15K in spend for 50,000 MR points, even if over a year period. That is an awful lot of opportunity cost for that amount of spend. In fact, many in these forums turn their nose up at retention offers that offer a far better spend/reward ratio than this offer.
I am considering getting the card, just to have, and hopefully get future NLL offers, but likely wouldn't complete the spending requirement. But if my wife refers me, we would at least net the referral bonus, which isn't horrible for a $0 annual fee card. But $15K spend for 50K MRs? That math just doesn't work for me...
