We’ve been on the road to various places since September, and can’t wait to leave the HR Yokohama. The service has been good, but their command of English has been spotty. For check in they brought us to the 3rd floor lounge, but it was unclear why. No biggie.

They upgraded us to the 19th (top) floor harbor view. Nice! Clean and spacious.

The lounge food was abysmal. We just left the GH Tokyo, where each of the 4 days the food was warm, interesting, unique. Here, breakfast is smoked salmon, runny eggs, salad, pickles from a jar, assorted bread from a bag, and congee. No steamed rice (!?) and no variation on any of the days. Evening food: smoked salmon, salad, pickles from same jar, assorted bread, and some poorly executed fried things. Popcorn shrimp (cold) and soggy cold “tempura” vegetables was last night’s offering. We began to dread the free meals but didn’t want to venture out to find something else after a long day.

I bring an AppleTV on trips which has worked well. But here their login requires web confirmation so I couldn’t use it. Grr.

So we’ll be glad to go. Aside from the view and room size, this isn’t much different from other corporate stay hotels. But, to put it in perspective, if I can complain that their bidet doesn’t have a fan to blow my butt dry, I’m really no doing that badly after all.
I'm happy it sounds like you won't be returning. Opens up space for all of us who like this hotel.
