That said, comping the stay makes no sense on Hyatt's part, so I hope you have that in writing somewhere. Mexico isn't a great place to have hotel payment disputes.
That's what I was telling my wife. After some discussion, I told her we could use 95,000 of those points for 3 free nights at Andaz Maui and transfer over another 95,000 to get 7 days and 6 nights in Maui instead of raising any flags.
I had to call Hyatt again because I see I now have a cash balance. I called the Hyatt line again, and got elevated to a case manager. I was given a case number and she said that in fact it would be comped. I don't have it in writing about the comp, but the case number has all the notes there. It's a $2900 stay that is supposed to be refunded. Like I pointed out initially, we booked the adults only hotel, and were put into the same category and class room into the family hotel. Now the adults only hotel is open again, but the resort has access to both properties. So we can just walk over to the adults only pool and enjoy all the amenities there.
