Got a free 3 night stay because booked hotel was under construction. Now its not?
So this is a doozy. I booked a 4 day 3 night stay for 110,000 points for my wife and I in Mexico at an all inclusive back in September for a wedding. A month after we booked the hotel, the bride called us and told us the adults side of the hotel was going to be shut down for the year starting in February. I contacted the hotel and they confirmed it, and they said if I wanted, I could refund it. I contacted Hyatt Explorist line directly and they investigated the issue. It got elevated to management and after apologizing for the mix up, they refunded my 110,000 points, and they comped our stay at the family resort side of the hotel, where the wedding is supposed to be held.
We just found out on Monday that they're not going through with the construction and the renovations. My question is, do we call back and see if we can get put back into the adults side of the hotel, with the risk of having the points clawed back? I kind of don't want to say anything, but I'm looking at the reservation, and it's showing that its booked with cash but we were told it was supposed to be comped. Very confused on how to move forward here.
