Accounting frustrations
As a general matter, between AA's less-than-stellar means of accounting for miles and LP accrual, and Citi's less-than-transparent accounting of miles, LP and credit earnings, I am finding this card increasingly frustrating to deal with. Both Chase and Amex have much more transparent systems for allowing you to track charges, credits, and miles/points earned on a transaction-by-transaction basis. I cannot find a way to do this on either the Citi website or Citi app.
A related frustration is that for statement purposes, Citi divides miles into 2 categories, regular purchases and bonus miles. When posting to AA.com, however, the miles are divided into additional categories -- e.g. bonus miles from hotels, bonus miles from AA purchases, regular purchases -- such that one cannot easily track whether mileage earnings reflected on the statement were properly posted.
I have noted several other related oddities but I'll stop there for the moment and ask, are other people finding this similarly frustrating? Have I overlooked an easy way to confirm that I am getting appropriate credit for each transaction?
