More new satellites are going up each week which have the laser interlinks, so no need for direct ground station visibility.

Having a read of marine coverage Starlink is pretty good except polar regions.

They are selling open ocean marine kits at the moment, indicating good global coverage.

And by 2024 coverage will only be better and get better.
