The IHG Select credit card is no longer available to new applicants. But like many, I retain this card with its annual fee of around $49 just for the annual free night and the 10% rebate on point redemptions. I can't remember the last time I actually spent on the card, but it was well over a year ago. I charge paid IHG stays to my IHG Premier card, although that's about the only use that that card gets.

Some issuers close inactive card accounts. Has anyone had their Select card closed for going several years without a charge?
