Possibility of getting Gold Status when shy of the miles required?
For 2004, I had only 47,505 miles qualifying for Elite Status. I would have had more than enough miles to achive Gold had I been booking on continental.com - I didn't realize until too late that I was only getting half of the qualifying miles in some cases by booking through my company's travel service. In addition, I only started flying again in May, 2004 - prior to that, I was on a local project for a year and a half, so I lost all status until achieving Silver during late 2004.
Finally, I already have 3,182 qualifying miles in January, so I'm obviously still flying Continental. Anyone think I have a chance to get the Elite group to upgrade me to Gold based on the circumstances?
I know that some of you may feel that I am trying to get around the system, and I guess I am, but it's not as if I'm new to One Pass - I've been a member since the early 90's and I have been at the top level during many years (even being Gold when Platinum did not exist - it used to be Bronze, Silver and Gold). This statement was meant to deflect flames and I hope it was effective ;-).
Thanks for any advice.
