So the middle seats face the aisle, whereas the window seats face away from it. Personally I feel you get more privacy in 1A and K.
Only real thing to take 1A specifically is for the aviation nerds. 1 ‘alpha’ has a bit of a significance being the lowest denomination/furthest forward seat on the plane. I didn’t really appreciate this was much of a deal, but the stewardess directing me to my seat did make a particular emphasis on the fact I was flying 1 Alpha.
Foot room in the first row is definitely quite a bit better than the others. None are bad, but there’s more room to move around. Some people I’m sure would be annoyed by light/noise from the galley, but for me (being 6ft) I’d much rather the leg room and the obvious benefit of being served first which is great on an overnight transatlantic flight where you want to get to sleep.
