After completing my JFK-JED-BKK trip, may I add my SV stopover experience at Jeddah:

(1) My JFK-JED flight arrived at around 7 am, when the airport was bustling but not overly busy. I completed my immigration in 15 minutes or less.
(2) To receive one-way free transfer to my free stopover hotel (Casablanca Grand), I contacted the hotel earlier via e-mail. They not only confirmed my reservation but also sent a person to receive me at Terminal 1, who then escorted me to a shuttle for the transportation.
(3) On that day, I was one of three folks/parties to be picked up at the airport, meaning whoever chose to stay at Casablanca hotel chains were receiving hotel transfer freely and easily. Perhaps the same process is followed by other hotels in the stopover program, but I’m not sure.
(4) Casablanca Grand, offered to a J-class flyer, is rated as a 5-star hotel. The hotel and my room were superb. I was allowed to check-in early at around 8:00 am, including offering me a sumptuous buffet breakfast on that very day.
(5) For the return airport transfer, I just called Uber from my hotel and paid only 36 SAR (9.6 USD + tips) for a 15-min ride. Indeed, Uber is rather cheap or my hotel is close to the airport or both.

Before I left New York, I bought an eSIM for KSA from Airalo for only 5 USD (1 GB for 7 days; data only). I started to receive internet connection as soon as the plane touched down the airport. Having a constant internet connection was helpful for google maps and calling Uber, among others.
