Just to concur with everyone else.
Welcome gift guarantee waived by online check-in. If and only if you have real service issues during your stay do you invoke the guarantee. Only once have I done it immediately after check-in and that's because I stood in a long line and witnessed how crap all the FDAa were treating every guest.
Compensation for lounge/breakfast only due of you're denied the benefit. How could you have been denied before breakfast time? If there's confusion on the benefit it can be frustrating when the FDA acts clueless and they certainly see enough plat+ guests every day for it to be routine, but short of denying the benefit there's really nothing to complain about than poor training.
Now, I've come across a few hotels that clearly have an internal policy to deny lounge replacement benefits. Either it's the "we're exempt" BS or it's the "we have this restrictive/ambiguous f&b credit" thing. The former I feel warrants invoking the guarantee. The latter I'll generally accept as long as it's written clearly.
Most hotel breakfasts suck anyway.
