If they're anything like the Pathward card they replaced the USBs with last year, no. They're the ones that will fail if you try to drain the full $500 in one swipe.
Kroger stores in my area haven't replaced them with anything but Kroger gift cards so far. The USBs can only be purchased at the CS desk.
