I'd have no problem with this if UA would also match the competition elsewhere ... like remove the 75k miles cap ... oh wait, they just join the race to the bottom, but they have no problem to continue to offer inferior services elsewhere.

Yeah, moving forward everyone can decide if this is an important factor or not, perhaps not on business travel but if I have to decide whether to upfare to First on personal travel on e.g. BOS-ORD ... it'll factor into that decision for sure.
AA,DL, UA all have raced to the bottom. FFP are only a glimpse of what they were. This is the new normal. Remember when George asked the clown do you remember Bozo?
