Nobody does. However, when you enter into a contract and someone lists this as a benefit and then refused to deliver it ... that's a problem.
I'd have no problem with this if UA would also match the competition elsewhere ... like remove the 75k miles cap ... oh wait, they just join the race to the bottom, but they have no problem to continue to offer inferior services elsewhere.
Yeah, moving forward everyone can decide if this is an important factor or not, perhaps not on business travel but if I have to decide whether to upfare to First on personal travel on e.g. BOS-ORD ... it'll factor into that decision for sure.
