As a J-class passenger, I managed to get a “free” stopover visa, free one-night of hotel at Casablanca Grand, and free one-way trip between airport and hotel. My NYC-JED flight arrives at 6:35 am one day, followed by the connecting JED-BKK flight leaving at 11:45 am next day. Hoping for an early check-in, I plan to rest and do some work at the hotel, visit the Jeddah Corniche in the afternoon/evening, including dining at a nice waterfront restaurant, and retire for the night. I plan to use UBER for local transportation.
That is exactly what i did. i arrived in the morning from Cochin in India on a one way biz ticket to Casa, there was somebody from the hotel at the airport (immigration was a breeze) and he put me in a van to the hotel (an uzbek driver, no communication possible). lovely room, saudi staff at the front desk, good room. uber to and fro to the corniche . great breakfast with great staff and then uber to the airport. felt well rested arriving in Casa, and then took the train to Marrakech. i did even manage to make a friend or two ..
