Of course it depends on where you are staying. I am currently at Hamptin Inn in Dallas West End and was given no recognition as gold member. I received the same type room and benefits as my associate who is not even enrolled in HHonors. So primarily the benefits for gold HHonors will accrue when staying at Hilton branded properties.
