If you can plan at least a week in advance in non-holiday weeks, the GUCs are more valuable. I would rate one GUC as worth at least $1,000, the minimum difference between C+ and D1. My wife and I like to travel in October, when the summer vacation period is over but the weather is still good in much of Europe.
I'm probably going to re-evaluate my AMEX situation when it comes up for renewal in mid-2024 and I may well revert to an individual SC membership at that time. I am planning on my health remaining good and having to travel at least the same number of times as I did in 2023, which was a total of 28 days of flying on the Big D. 15 days of SC access on my AMEX reserve is not enough. I'm also looking at converting a non-AMEX credit card that I have to one which includes Priority Pass membership, so that I have lounge access in CLE (the CLUB at CLE is not as nice or as spacious as the Delta SCs, but it is good enough for my needs).
