LT titanium here, 1750+ LT nights: When I reached LT in the old program several years before the merger, I chose to switch most of my earnings to Hilton to try to reach LT Diamond there. I'm heading close to 800 nights there (out of 1000). When I'm reviewing my paid or points stay options, I do look at both. But I agree fully with the topic of benefits outside of North America properties. Some bloggers I read, have chosen Hyatt as their second program, but I was already well along in Hilton and at the time there were not as many Hyatt options in my travels.
