When my wife was workling in Singapore for a local singaporean entity, they had corportate retreat/team building event and she and her colleague (female) were sharing a room that had one single king bed.
This kind of thing is rather norm in that part of the world and a local companies - they don't treat privacy the same level as in Western world and in some cultures they don't even have a concept on the same level as in western world.

$175 is not bad. I've seen a policy limiting to $170 for Bay Area and NY and $140 for other places in the US.
