In fact, that's what I expected. I've never had to pick up and check in my bags again after the first leg that reaches EU soil on a flight ex USA to the EU/UK. It was always checked through. So that means that there is a high probability that the baggage will indeed be checked through directly to the final destination and I can't have it short-checked to FRA...
