Marriott is a great back up when no Hyatts are around or when the brand is superior in that specific city. That's what I use it for. Next week I'm staying at St Regis Riyahd because there is no Park Hyatt there.

For Jeddah, I'm splitting between LC Assila 3 nights and Park Hyatt (6 nights w TSU to preupgraded suite) because PH sold out for the other 3 nights.

But it's never a top choice anymore. It's nice to have a backup .
