Though it does mean more people can earn SWUs, lounge passes, and GGUs, which would all compete with Alaska flyers (since all can be gifted), and the extra miles earned means more miles out there which is more competition for reward seats and more reason for devaluations.
I think we’re grossly overestimating the number of people who will choose to move over and earn AS status now that the eqs requirement is removed, and the impact they have on the program.
