My Tumi Alpha carry-on finally gave out after 16 years of abuse, and I couldn't bring myself to spend $800 to buy a new Tumi or Rimowa. I bought a fake Rimowa Essential carry-on off Lazada.sg for $200 and I've been using it the last 4 months. It is a very very good copy - I've compared it with an original and the only difference I found was the etching of the "Rimowa" and the tracer number is a bit less deep and a little less dark. And it says "Made in Germany" on the inside when it obviously wasn't. Everything else - wheels, lock, handle, stitching, sound of the empty shell - just like the original.

I've now taken it on about 15 flights, checked it in on half a dozen flights across South America, Africa and India, so its taken a beating and come out shining. Sure, there's no warranty, but this is a damn good deal as far as I'm concerned.
