Why not just book SGN-HND on the separate ticket, rather than SGN-HND-SFO? Then there wouldn't be an issue.
Yes, I am worried about my duplicate booking get cancelled. AA does not show any availability for SGN-HND, but there is availability for SGN-HND-SFO in economy. I called AA and two agents can’t find SGN-HND by itself. My guess is that they are probably married segments.
