Moving between them with your 4pm check out will not be onerous.

Had I arrived Saturday instead of Wednesday, I probably would have had better luck. Same thing happened to me in Tokyo earlier this year, where I was upgraded during the last 2 nights of a 6 night stay. Kind of a pain to move between hotels but worth it if you value a nicer room and the chance to experience different properties.
One other advantage for doing this is, depending on what you're doing in Bangkok, you can plan your activities around the different hotels. Do the things closer to the hotel you're staying at (if that makes sense).

I'd do athenee and SGS. And then there are great ones to choose from after that at different price points and locations. Le meridient for patpong/silom area
New autograph padi (I haven't stayed at) for the happening Thonglor area.

I'd suggest 4-5 days in three. Of course, which three is the real question.

Thank you dear FT’ers! Trust me, had it been just me: I’d have probably sampled 14 different Marriott properties!!

This is a trip where I am traveling with my wife (and one of her friend will be joining us!). So, as much as I want to split my stay, I don’t think my S/o would approve (esp. since her friend would also be in tow).
Would it be better to book close in, at a property that shows suite availability for most / all days? I was thinking of splitting my stay in 2, to create a balance - what do y’all think?
Also, between The Athenee, SGS, St. Regis - what would you suggest in terms of elite recognition (esp. upgrades), location (walking distance to good food / night life, shopping), etc. For context - Will be booking 2 rooms under my name.
jonisflying &
ftrichard - some really good advice w.r.t. hotel hopping and scheduling activities around the hotel. Any hotel / hotels you would recommend for exploring food options / night life (bars / clubs) / shopping / sightseeing?
