At some airports, being at the last row could save a significant time at immigration, especially if that passenger is not a citizen/resident or can't use the e-gates.
I guess I always pick in-flight comfort over a small wait at immigration. Unless I'm in J I will always pick an exit row for the legroom. Obviously if you're on an A321 you can sit at the back, however on the A320s that means pretty close to the middle of the plane.
