No bags and a tightish 1 hour and 45 min connection at LAX. I had to book this as it was the only flight that would get me to my East Coast destination that day and FJ gets in about Noon PST.
I looked to find travel insurance in Oz that would cover missed connections but don't seem to be having much luck.

What happens if I mis-connect? Will AA help rebook me? Do Oneworld protections help here?
Thanks for any guidance.
As noted AA isn't under any obligation to rebook you and there are no oneworld protections or anything like that.

That said, most agents generally want to help you get to your destination so if you were to show up to the AA gate a few mins after the door closes exhausted from running and explained that you had a late a connection from TBIT a friendly agent will probably help you out. YMMV.

If that AA option is truly the only way to get to your destination the same day then I wouldn't have any hesitation booking it. Assuming you depart NAN on time you won't have any problem making it without bags.

And, if you're sitting at NAN and your FJ flight gets delayed such that your AA connection is in jeopardy, then you have plenty of time to try and rebook it. Call AA or get online from NAN and rebook it there, don't wait until you get to LAX.
