Appreciate the advice. My question is whether there are any policies or guidelines due to both airlines being coupled to Oneworld (albeit loosely in FJs case). I had read something about Oneworld protections but that seemed dated. I don't really have any choice in terms of other flight options that day. If I mis-connect and AA doesn't help, I don't really have a lot of alternatives.
I do understand that if I miss the connecting flight by a limited amount, there is some thresholds in which AA will rebook me - basically the more standard "missed flight" scenario.
