You seem to be very interested in Crew Hotels
There is a process that is in placed headed by Corporate real estate and with the surge in hotel occupancy and travel, securing hotels upon contract expiration is becoming increasingly difficult.
Most hotels (not all) will honour status for breakfast and lounge access, but qualifying nights are not eligible on crew rates.
It was a buyers market during COVID when hotel occupancy was running at 15%. Most hotels are more than adequate with the odd "dud".
I recall when Alitalia was operating into YYZ, a planned changed of hotel from the King Edward to the Royal York caused a mini boycott on the FCO-YYZ flights

.
Our hotels have on occasion been changed due to industrial disputes, but I have not been following this situation.
Again, the Sheraton YVR Airport is not a crew hotel and have never stayed there.
