With your CX problem, I've had similar issues with it, also on the AKL route oddly enough. The ONLY way I could get it to give me CX segments to AKL was to use CX as my favored carrier in the top right of the tool. But when I did that, it would also insist to route me on CX for other intra-Asia pairs vs. allowing the direct flight (on JL in my case, but have seen it do similar with other pairs).
