I last flew RyanAir in 2002: STN-HHN (Frankfurt Hahn, which is of course nowhere near Frankfurt, but was convenient for the group I was travelling with) and return two weeks later.

Given the distance in time, I don't remember much about seating, baggage, service, etc.

I do remember there was a delay announced, due to a 'technical issue' which 'the engineers were fixing'. We were at the gate above the aircraft, where two bods in hi-vis were whacking one of the slat mechanisms with an oversized wrench...
