What fuel stops have you experienced personally? Only one. UA ORD-PHL less than 2 weeks before the WTC towers came down. We didn't have enough fuel to last the holding pattern we were in at PHL, so diverted to MDT.

Were you permitted to leave the plane? Yes, slightly. We were allowed to go and stand on the stairs outside the front door if we wanted some fresh air.

Did you take on any additional passengers during the fuel stop? No.

We spent a total of 44 mins on the ground. MDT-PHL might be the shortest mainline flight I've ever been on.
