I just been on a call with CX booking service and they're unable to book any stop overs. The only route i can find is to "add stop over" is from Shanghai to London, but its not available on any other routes. Our plan was to go to Bali and for me to start my ticket to London from Bali. But that appears not to be an option. The ticket price i get round trip is IDR 60-55K, but when i add stop over the ticket price goes to IDR 200K, so about 3X the price. as a comparasion, the rate from PVG to LHR went from RMB 29k to 34k with my stop over for the same time period. Seems to be a glitch in the system.
The customer service agents don't know how to engage and properly answer my questions. The explanation i got is that it is seasonal, which appears to be misinformed.

Today I managed to make two regional bookings with the 7 day stopover in Hong Kong but it was a very frustrating experience. I must have received the technical difficulties, start again message at the point of being asked who was flying more than 20, may be 30 times.
One of my bookings was in November and I was delighted to find that all 4 flights had the comfortable long haul business class seat. Perhaps my discomfort which I have not been shy to share has been recognised. Many thanks Cathay. Keep that up and you will be recognised as a quality lifestyle brand.
