Don't do it. "It's not a timeshare" sounds like something somebody who's selling a timeshare would say. They try to tempt people with offers of elite status to distract you from objectively analyzing the value of what you're actually buying. It may have a different flavour than conventional timeshares, but if you have to pay a large sum upfront and there are annual fees, it's a timeshare. I don't know about you, but I don't know too many happy timeshare "owners." Save the cash and use it to spend wherever / whenever you want rather than being limited to one program's T&Cs.
