One benefit I was not aware of was being allowed to stay an unlimited time in the lounge. Our flight in Munich got changed thus meaning we had 10 hours to spend in the airport. On entering lounge we were concerned they might have a time limit of up to 4 hours but lady at desk told us platinum card holders can stay as long as they wish.
Techinically, there is a limit. You will be kicked out when the lounge closes
I know with priority pass and the like, the lounge may only grant entry 3-4 hours before departure. But certainly this does not apply at airline hub lounges accessed based on status, or at least I have not seen it.
