There’s not much I wouldn’t put past a (management) consultant, least of all their ability to suck up damn near anything. By and large the corporate equivalent of oxygen thieves, charging you for lending them your watch so that they can tell you what the time is.

In my 25 years of being in management, resorting to consultants is either the result of laziness, incompetence or having the wrong team. Or, worst of all, a lack of testicular fortitude when it comes to the horrible task of downsizing staff numbers.
The only uniform benefit I’ve been able to identify, is the possibility of placing all blame on them when they eventually potter off and their “improvements” inevitably results in functional paralysis and most of the best people gone.
Still, they’re human after all, and there’s no humanity being stuck down the back of the bus for any intercontinental business travel.
