It's extremely poor form for the union to be calling that out in a press release, and for the media to be repeating it.
Well, this union seems to be smart enough to ask to be paid more while calling customers to boycott their employer... And media's job is to get clicks. If they put "airlines" instead of AC in their headline, I guess there will be fewer clicks.
Airline crew hotels, or the list of hotels that a company has contract with, is considered "secret" but pretty well known on the other hand. Those who fly enough to experience IRROPS resulting in overnight hotel stays know, those who spend enough time in the right hotels know, those who know people who work at hotels and/or airlines know, those who happen to be around at the hotel shuttle stop at the right time know, not to mention that some pilots and FAs post more than enough information on social medias that you can easily tell which hotels they stay.
