Boarding non-rollerboard pax and rollerboard pax separately?
Arrived at my DTW gate this morning right as Main 1 was boarding. I was C+. The agents had formed two lines, one for pax without rollerboards, and one for pax with, and were boarding the non-rollerboard group first. There was no priority line.
Is this standard practice?? It’s certainly the first time I’ve seen it. While I get the intent, in reality it’s resulted in anyone who boarded MC1 or later with a rollerboard being royally screwed, since those with backpacks who preferred to put their bag overhead had free rein over the bins, and there was zero enforcement on board. I also don’t appreciate having to store both of my bags 20 rows behind my bulkhead C+ seat.
