The Maha route works well enough, in the same way as the J/F facility. The difference is it can be used by Plats and Goldies travelling QR whatever their class of travel, and it's the hub for a range of wider services.

I can't see why QR doesn't rationalise all its premium arrivals services under one roof: neither of the current lounges seems capacity-stressed.
