And of course while I'm in a ranty mood, that's the other thing - I grew up in a culture that you'd travel on your own time (e.g. into JFK on Sunday afternoon, redeye getting back on Saturday morning) - that was made easier because of some semblance of a social contract with your employer that you could at least do it in comfort.

If I ever had to fly Y long haul for work, I'd make damn certain it was entirely on the company's time...
