My two most recent United flights featured:

1) Seat backs up (rigidly enforced) 35 minutes before landing
2) "" 38 minutes before landing (!)

This is getting really ridiculous. I've gotten used to them ending service an ENTIRE STATE away from landing (e.g., the entire state of Nevada or Oregon en route to SFO). But to have to pretend you're going to land in any minute, when you're well over half an hour away is absurd. The laziness of union FAs knows no bounds. They've been cutting it on the other end too. On the last flight, they didn't even start service until over an hour after take-off. First they went around hawking the idiotic credit card offers that nobody wants to hear about.
